After relegation from Division 1 in 2007 the 1st XI broke up, with only Dan Smith, Will Sandall, Lee Humphrey and Mickey Sumner now currently playing for the team. Two more relegations and the loss of the 2nd X1 during the 2009 season led to the team relocating to Divsion 8 at the start of the 2010 season. The team has been led with spirit and verve by Dan Smith for the past 2 seasons.Leading from the front, Dan was statistically the 2nd best bowler in the entire leaguelast season. With Henry Whitehouse leading the batting, the team were almost unstoppablelast year with only 2 defeats all season. With the wily heads of Rob Sharpe and Alan Omar holding the batting together at any sign of jitteryness! So far this season, the team haven't hit the batting heights of last season. Onlywicket keeper Brody Chequer has consistantly batted well this season, with three 50sand an average of 34. All this changed last weekend when playing Ducklington 2nds. After being asked to bat first, Kings Sutton scored 448-7 in their 50 overs, this is the highest score in the 106 year history of the OCA. Lee Humphrey scoring 154, which is the highest individual score in the club's history. Dan Smith, with his fast bowling, also broke an OCA record earlier this season with consecutive 8 wicket hauls, again this feat has never been achieved in the OCA. He is currently the leading wicket taker in the entire league with 51 wickets. Behind the scenes, the club have a lot to thank Chairman Nick Armstrong for his efforts in preparing the wicket for the home games. Also to Chris Prothero of the White Horse for his continued support and Barbara Monks for the donations from the Bingo evenings! With sponsorship by Andrew Cherry of Cherwell Valley for the balls.
